93 5.8 Fuel Bubbling Out of Pressure Valve

I have a 1993 F250 with the 5.8. Just had both tanks cleaned and new fuel pumps put in due to previous owner letting it sit. There's been a strong smell of gas for a couple weeks, and when I investigated today, I found that there's fuel bubbling out of the pressure relief valve near the front of the fuel rail on the driver's side.

Does that indicate a deeper issue or can I just replace that little valve and be good? I've had to put a lot of money into this truck and don't want to go crazy replacing fuel rails if I don't have to.

Sounds like the schrader valve is just bad. It could also be dirty. Use a little screwdriver or pick tool and blip it a few times while it is pressurized and see if it clears out.

Thanks! Got a part# for that valve? Still bubbling after clearing, and local parts places can't find it.

try giving it a little tightening. you can get a schraeder valve installation/removal tool at any bicycle or similar shop.

Any auto parts store should carry it. They call it a tire valve core or valve stem removal tool. I would pick up a new vale core/stem while there and just replace the old one. The top of the one shown is what you remove and replace the stem with. Sandy

Tried giving it a crank with a 9mm wrench; had a little room to tighten but is snug now. Still leaking. Afraid to bear down on it too much as I don't want to tear up my rail or strip the valve in there. Thanks for the suggestion!

Cool - will a tire valve core work for this thing? Afraid the fuel might eat it.

I put fuel pressure gauge on mine, when it started bubbling, now I dont have to go rent one when issues arise
