Rear window slider defroster not working.
Recently went to use the rear window defroster during a snow storm and the center section / slider of my rear window wasn’t working. Did some internet searching which led me to several posts here, and found a defroster tab repair kit “Dr. Defroster” in the F-150 section. Bought the kit, followed the directions, and it appears it’s all fixed now.

The power passes through conductive strips in the glass to the connections where I’m pointing for the center section. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...4f97742b9.jpeg Visually found separated connection. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...ba7463508.jpeg Outside view of main power squares on the left, and the round center section power supply. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...925c1b2db.jpeg Center section power supply pick up points. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...bc38795f3.jpeg Repaired center section connection. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...5ccb5d201.jpeg 11.75 VDC while the repaired defroster is on. When the connection was broken the voltage was 13.85 VDC as there was no load through the defroster grid. |
I have recently experienced this. Can you tell me if you removed the entire center section connection or did you apply the epoxy just between the connection and glass while still attached.
