Nitto Ridge Grapplers rock sling..
 

I live on a farm and my gravel driveway is 3/4 of a mile long. I’ve decided to go with a set of 20x10 Fuel wheels wrapped with 35x12.5xR20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. The offset is -18 so they will stick out about 2 inches and I have a crew cab with running boards.

My worry before buying is these tires slinging gravel and chipping my paint, but these tires have a good amount of distance between the tread I feel I should be fine maybe.... Any thoughts or is anyone running these tires that can share their thoughts.

i haven't noticed much. parents have a dairy with rock driveways and leaving the property i get less rock sling than i thought i would. i'm running the OEM raptor running boards and those catch all the rocks anyways (i'm on stock wheels so zero tire poke). my AT2's threw more rocks

most tires pickup rocks. no getting around it. there is one tire with special design blocks that doesnt pickup rocks but its mostly for offroad and mud

I don't have any experience with the Ridge Grapplers but I had a set of Dura Tracs on my old truck and they didn't throw many rocks. I think the larger voids between the lugs doesn't allow the tires to pick up rocks unless they are large. My current truck just has the stock Wrangler ATs the factory throws on and I think they throw a few more rocks and I'm thinking about going to something different.

The worst tire I've had for rock slinging has been the BFG ATs, those things pick up every little rock on the road. Then you pull onto the pavement and it takes a good mile to get all the rocks cleaned out.

My ridge grapplers pick up a lot of rocks. Nature of the beast. Fender flares help but I still have everyone pull their hands in for the first quarter mile leaving a gravel road. I’ve been hit in the forearm a few times and those damn things hurt. Great tires though.

I also have a gravel driveway and Ridge Grapplers. When I park at home there's a lot of rocks in the tires, but they seem to eject themselves well enough. On almost every drive, though, I head one "plink" around 40mph where the last rock got unstuck at speed. I honestly don't know what you can do about it with that kind of offset. I'm running 295/65r20 on stock wheels so they fit pretty well inside the wheel wells.

I park in gravel and yeah the RG do toss some rocks pulling out but it isnt crazy bad.

Like mentioned above the wider the opening between lugs the less gravel it grabs on too.

also running 35 rgs. ive hit several cars with rocks flying out. stock wheels.

It teaches people not to tail gate.

At least you guys don't have to worry about rust forming from the rock chips.

Ford mud flaps an Havoc running boards that look like stock Raptor boards. I have gravel lot and drive at work and even these relatively tight street treads pick up a lot of stones. I keep a flathead screw driver in the console for pickin rocks. The flaps and boards seem to be doing a good job protecting the paint so far. I hear them hitting. I hear thuds I think could be the front wheel wells... I hear the dink as it hits the running boards. I crawl around under the truck some and I have chips and dings in the powder coat of the running boards. But si far nothing in the paint.
I have been planning on Ridge Graps to replace the Michelins when worn out. But if the stockers are good in the snow I may keep them in 295/65/20 for the good fuel economy.
But they definitely dont look as cool as the Nittos.
