new to me '01 f250 4x4 V10

So I picked up a '01 F250 CCSB lariat with the V10 to use for towing. 122K on the ODO. Here's a few pictures of how she looked when I picked her up.

This was the first trip. Towed the quads from SoCal up to north of Reno, Nv to go play for memorial day weekend. No issues.

Looks to be in pretty good condition body wise.

Just got rid of a 2006 F350 cc 5.4l plow truck; only about 64,000 miles on it but wouldn’t have made it through another winter due to all the rust on it (alot of road salt over the years)

A few mods to her so far. Installed new drilled and slotted rotors and heavy duty towing brake pads on all four corners. The old brakes had a shudder when applying them. So easier to just replace rather than turn the rotors and hope for the best.

Y pipe replacement. The new Y pipe came with the truck, I just had to have it installed.

And a few decorations for the back window of events I attended/participated in.
50th Baja 500, 50th Baja 1000 and 50th Mint 400. 25th Hot Rod Power tour. And King of the Hammers and Tecate Enduro.

Thanks. It looks in great shape. Only rust I've found is on top of the cab where some paint has peeled off. I'll address that quickly so that it doesn't rust any more.
Truck was first purchased in Orange County Ca, and has spent its whole life in So Cal. So probably why no rust.

Did some freshening up of the front end this weekend. got rid of the faded old gray and painted it all with some charcoal black plastic paint. Think it came out OK and looks better. Not a bad face lift for 10 bucks.

Old from when i got her.

Loaded up a 24 foot Toy Hauler with our 2 Quads and went camping at Pismo beach for a few days. Truck did good towing thru the hills on the 101. Only issue was getting out into the sand. Tires started digging in a little. So I dropped it down into 4 lo and had no issues. Only down side was the 7 MPG going thru the hills.

About any truck would get about the same. The only way out of that would be to get a diesel . . . and then take 50,000 miles of towing for it to pay for itself. :)

Great looking truck!! I've camped at Pismo a few times, always a good time.
