First long road trip, impressed
 

2017 6.7 cclb Platinum, Iam impressed with it on our first long roadtrip without our trailer. From Los Angeles to Weatherford Texas, averaged 700 miles per tank, 17 mpg over the trip. Some segments better but tha was at 70 to 75 mph, that was around 17.8 mpg. First time at 80mph ran very smooth, a little unerving for me thst fast I am used to 65 to 70. If my spelling is off, blame it on fat finger syndrome, typing this 11:30 pm on phone.

Yeah, long trips are awesome. Adaptive cruise control, auto-dim mirrors, massaging seats, auto-dim headlights, auto wipers. 700 miles per tank (actually, the tank lasts longer than me). I love my sportscar, but for trips more than four hours, I prefer the truck. Oh, and don't have to load up the wife and dog, and "stuff" into a sportscar. My wife brings too much stuff. I can't convince her that everything you need for a weekend getaway should fit in a grocery bag. lol.

We took our truck on a Christmas trip from South Louisiana to the wife's sisters home in Frederick. Md. I drove about 600 miles each day on a 2 day trip. This was in rain..heavy traffic on I-81 and even some snow. Hauled boxes of presents..ice chests loaded with frozen seafood and luggage. Truck averaged 16.3 mpg running the speed limits plus some idling. Not bad for a DRW F350 that rode as good on the hwy as my F150's did. Felt safe on the road also!!

Well something changed on our return trip, same route, iam averaging 13mpg regen dropped it to 11.5

Reset it to get the average up and keep going. }>

Welcome to the world of aerodynamics! You most likely had a tailwind going to Texas and pushed a headwind heading back to California, especially in West Texas.

We are on a round trip from Vancouver Wa to Colorado Springs Co and back ave 14.9 so far best was 17.4 in Colorado but figure it was the thin air. We are on the return leg and in Wyoming and a nasty head wind and last tank was 13.7 still not bad for a 2018 CCLB 6.7 DRE with 4.10’s and we don’t get past much if you know what I mean. Love the adaptive cruise it sure make those 900 mile days more manageable. Now if it just road a little better on this crappy roads.

We have been taking our '17 F250 on more local trips than the wife's Expedition. Also just took it from Ohio to Orange Beach, Alabama on vacation. Great trip. Had all the beach gear stored in the bed all week. Only challenge was the condo we stayed at had a 6'8" height limit in their parking garage. Fortunately, the ground level had a higher clearance, but tighter navigation. We managed very well and it made for a great vehicle to travel a distance in.

We take the truck on all trips now. It's just so much more comfortable than any other vehicle. My fuel mileage did drop from 19 avg to 16 after putting the bigger tires on though.

First trip
 

Took my 19 F250 larait on a 1700 mile trip, it did awsome! I averaged 18.5 mpg with my 6.7. Best was actually running around town in Florida I saw 20mpg. For 150 miles on one tank.
Regeneration dropped it from 18.5 on interstate to 17.4, but then slowly came back up after it was done. I can tell now when it's doing a regen by the way it acts when letting off the accelerator at hwy. Speeds. Feels a little funny but no issues at all. I love this truck, it's a pleasure to drive!

We made it back home last 2 legs after fillup were 16.4 avg. I guess it was a long climb out of Texas up to Kingman on I 40. Or maybe stale fuel. No water in separator. I guess Diesel can go stale if I find a low volume dealer. 2 new tanks and power service may have helped. Oh and we did Buy a house while in Weatherford about 5 miles from DW's Cousin who has a 7 acre long horn ranch, I know very small by Texas standards.
