Installing component speakers in 2001 F-150 Supercrew

I ordered some Infinity reference 5-1/4" component speakers and am wondering the best place to mount the crossovers. I'm not sure how much room i have between the door panel and sheetmetal, and I definitely would rather not mount it inside the door where water could get to them.
Is there room under the window switch area? I'm thinking there might be, if my memory serves me... I've had them apart replacing switches, and window regulators, but it's been awhile.
And another question.
Where have you mounted the tweeters? I'm thinking in the vinyl area in front of the door handle, or up behind the side mirrors.
Also installing a Sony WX-GS920BH high power head unit, so this thing ought to rock pretty good.
And I already have Infinity Kappa 6x9s in the back... Took some work, but they fit. (I already had them from a previous vehicle)

OK. Update.
Pulled my door switch panel off, and there is plenty of space between the sheetmetal and door panel for the crossover.
I think I'm also leaning towards putting the tweeter at the front of the vinyl area on the doors, as that would be most consistant from drivers side to passenger side.
The area behind mirror is too awkward, and tweeter would be facing down too much.
Started raining, so that's as far as I got...
I now have a game plan, though.

Prior to mounting them, read this thread. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...oor-panel.html

Ha!... That's a good catch there! My doors were attached, and closed, so it would be hard to make that mistake.
I did install them at the front part of the vinyl, though.

I'm curious how they turned out, did you take any pictures ?

This is a screen grab from a video I took.
I'm not sure if I like them like this. I may drill a larger hole and mount them with the flush mount bracket (which isn't quite flush mount, but lower-mount than this)

These are the factory ones on my 2012 F-250, probably not an option for you though.
