EEC-IV or EEC-V?

I have a 1997 F350 with a 460 gas engine. It is an old U-Haul. Because it is over 10,000 GVW, they got around the OBD2 requirements. I don't know if it is an EEC-IV or EEC-V system. From what I've read, EEC-IV codes can be accessed by jumping wires in the EEC. EEC-V requires a scanner. Cover of EEC says only "EEC".

I could be wrong but I think EEC IV has a 64 pin connector for the ECU and EEC V has a 128 pin connector.

this EEC cover you mention, is it in the engine compartment ?

The cover which says EEC is over the test port(?) for the EEC, on the driver's sidewall of the engine compartment.

Then it's an EEC-IV system. An EEC-V system would have the diagnostic connector under the dash near the steering column.

Thank you!
