Looks like I will be trying another Solenoid.

Slow day at work today, so I thought, what the hell. Might as well put my CNC's to

If anyone wants one like that, let me know. I can do pretty much anything you can imagine.

🥵 glad I was able to get this done. Very happy the way it turned out. That cowl wasn't easy to get access to. But, I got it, I literally had weeds growing in all the dirt and pine needles.

Man O man.. . This a sweet feeling getting this carburetor back and rebuilt. I'm currently replacing the fuel lines and draining the tanks.

Well... I got the first start. Ran great!, it was parked in 2009. So 10 years. There was no doubt in my mind

Congrats on hearing that baby alive again!

Yes, congratulations on getting it running and hanging in there through the hard parts. I'll bet Grandpa is looking down from above and smiling on you and the truck. :-X22

Thanks, I bet he sure is. I had a wiring issue that took me forever to figure out. The wire coming from the neutral safety switch to the starter solenoid has a fault in it and it was randomly working, thought it was ignition switch, I ended up by passing and splicing in a wire and ran it straight to the solenoid.

Replaced all 3 belts, alternator, and the starter, all new brakes and brake lines. Tomorrow I'm replacing the radiator hoses and a new thermostat. Also, I found a air cleaner on Ebay that shipped out today. New tires will be here on Tuesday, there weren't many options for the 16.5.

Awesome truck! It looks like your grandpa took good care of it. It's great it could stay in the family.

Thanks, he sure did take care of it. It spent most of its life in the garage, which is why it doesn't have any bad rust on it. All of the floor pans are in great shape. The surface rust came from when my cousin had it, he sat outside for 10 years and did absolutely nothing with it.

Got to drive my mom around the neighborhood tonight, the smile on her face made it all worth it. Probably the first time she rode in her dads truck in over 20 years.

I really need to figure out how to tighten up the doors, they both rattle like something fierce when we were driving it. Really ran great, new tires will be in soon.

My son and I got around cleaning the inside today, need to vacuum and shampoo the carpets. I can not believe how clean the interior is. My grandpa wore a small hole in the seat. I'm going to pull the headliner down and use some spray glue to get it all back up. Kinda sagging in the back corner.

I have another quick question for you all... I want to put in a high flow water pump on this 460. It always ran got with my grandpa towing the boat. Any recommendations?

TIA

Nice to see another supercab in utah! What part of the state are you from? I just picked up my 79 F250 a couple weeks ago, but your is in way better shape. Also, love the backstory and memories with your Granpa. Definitely makes it that much sweeter!

Thanks, it's going to be a lot of fun. I have more things planted for this Truck. My wife and I are searching for the the same 70's vintage camper for it, I'd like to find something we can re-do ourselves, but... if the right one came along that was all done, I wouldn't turn it down haha.... my truck is at my dads in South Jordan, when I get the tires mounted on Tuesday I'll be driving it home in Springville.
