Ford F-250 6.9L & 7.3L IDI injectors

Hey,
just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I had the injection pump in my 1985 F-250 rebuilt by Central Diesel Injection in Red Deer, AB. They did a great job btw. I thought I should also have the injectors replaced at the same time. I ordered some Stanadyne injectors with a return line kit from eBay. The ones I received have number 781535 and 9-90 written on them and I was told they were supposed to work in my truck. The code written on them is “D”. I replaced the original “BB” code injectors (part number LJC6760301) and installed the original (early) style return line kit in the truck with the new Stanadyne injectors. They did not work very well. The return line T fittings would not seal at all. they leaked and sucked air steady. Could not keep the truck running. I then proceeded to order three other early style return line kits just like the ones that came with the Stanadyne injectors and installed each and every one of them with the Stanadyne D code injectors trying to get the stupid things to seal properly. Frustrated, I finally ordered another set of reman BB code injectors, and installed them. Then the return line T sealed properly as they were meant to. I’m beginning to think that the Stanadyne injectors are used on later model 6.9L or 7.3L IDI models with the newer style return line kit and T fittings. Am I wrong? I just assumed that the T’s that came with the injectors were the right ones for those injectors , which is why I kept ordering the early style like a dummy, still believing that they were the correct injectors for my model year of truck. I can hardly find any information regarding these D code injectors online. Just wondering if someone could help answer my unresolved questions.
thanks :)

Go to this forum https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum117/ and just start a new thread there like you did here and copy and paste your question above and see if you get any answers. That question is a little bit over my head. I have other resources too that may know if you do not get a response in the other forum.

The 781535 later 88-94 injector bodies require the use of the later style return caps.

They will work in your truck but need to use the later return caps.
