Anyone else see diesel fuel prices dropping?
Last couple times I filled up diesel was about 45 cents cheaper than gas. Just wondering if that's a country wide thing or something local with supply?

Not sure if that's diesel dropping or just the fact that gas has been on the rise.
|
Here, gas is about 15 cents more than diesel for the first time I can remember in recent history. Here, gas is just rising far faster than diesel prices.

Gas was 2.45 a gallon yesterday when I filled up and diesel was 2.95.

Diesel not dropping around me (CO). Gasoline has increased and diesel has stayed relatively flat. So, the gap is shrinking (down to $0.20 - $0.35), but the price of diesel isn't coming down.

It's all rising here. Gas now 2.55 and diesel 3.00
|
I was paying 2.49 for diesel, but now it jumped back up to 2.70 and so did gas, its about 2.71. I use gas buddy to find the cheapest, right now one of the places I stop is 2.59. I asked the manager at a murphy I stop at why their price jumped up and she said to meet the local prices, not because fuel jumped.

2.37 for gas here and 2.95 on diesel. They just passed another tax increase for 10 cents for gas and 20 cents for diesel starting July 1st...

S. Texas, prices of diesel fell for about 2 weeks, for a .30-.40$ difference in price from unleaded. Everything back to normal now with a .60-.70 spread of gas/diesel. $2.40 gas $2.99 diesel.

Seasonal transition. Refiners make a lot more #2 fuel oil (heating oil, mid-grade distillates) in colder winter months then switch the blend pool over to more gasoline for upcoming summer driving months.
Spreading heat / RBOB is a long-standing tradition for futures traders. Also the crack spread. Diesel prices have been governmentally manipulated to discourage peeps running diesels for enviro-nazi agenda. Yes the refiners had to spend bazillions of dollars to build ULSD units and pre-treat feedstocks to remove sulfur compounds, salts, and heavy metals, but the costs for that have long since been re-couped so the consistently higher diesel prices are not influenced by refiners' true costs to produce. |
Here in Canada. Gas is 1.28 a litre. And diesel 1.09. but there always very close in price

I generally try to fill up in Ohio and North Carolina as those are the lowest prices I see. However, last week they both seem to be moving up to match the national average. Haven't observed a decrease in any fuel prices anywhere.

4.19 gas and 4.59 diesel that's in mid California.
