04 F350 speedometer question

10 years ago my 2000 F350 was crushed by a tree. 4 years ago i bought a 04 F350 for a donor to put the 2000 back together.
the 2000 has 16,000 miles on it. the 2004 had 223,000 miles on it.
i used the complete cab, nose, and wiring from the 2004.
is there any way to reprogram the pcm or instrument cluster to read the engine and trans current 18,000 miles?
i have forscan, and auto enginuity.

Not sure, but I would say no. That would be a very lucrative business for someone, if they could dial back the mileage on high mileage cars and trucks and re-sell them. Just like vin numbers, the person with the innocent reasons gets caught up in the under handed illegal part of our automotive business.

Is the transplanted instrument cluster (2004) the digital read out type or the clockwork style? I know for the E-Series vans that change came about beginning model year 2005

've seen several speedo repair services on eBay and other online outlets who can and will reset an odometer's reading for a fee.. They do require a bit of documentation related to the VIN etc in order to do this. BTW this does tend to be only available with the digital odo reading---the clockwork style odo is very easily reset by most DIY's but it does require disassembling the instrument cluster, pretty much down to its smallest parts. I've done this--its tedious and a bit nerve-racking but kinda fun at the same time.

04 is digital, 2000 was analog. and the 2000 cluster is different than the 04
i would have put the 2000 PCM in so the speedo read correct mileage, but it is different too.
oh well, i guess i will just live with it and keep the mileage difference marked down.
