Looking for skylight blue spray paint

I just ordered a new gas tank and am trying to find some paint to have it close to looking stock again. Being that it's a gas tank behind the seat, perfection isnt important to me so I'm not willing to spend a couple hundred to professionally paint it.

I'd be perfectly happy with just spray painting it. I've got a 64 F100 with a Paint code of Y - Skylight Blue. I found one site that sells the skylight blue for a 66, but it appears to be a different shade of blue even though the name is the same. Where do you reccomend I pick up a couple cans of this that will match my stock color?

I was considering getting a couple cans from AutomotiveTouchUp.com. Anyone have experience with their quality?

Thanks.

Here's a page from the 1964 Salesmans bible. The full Ford code is there as well as the "Y".

Sorry I don't have any experience with that place. What I usually do is have my local jobber mix me a batch and if I want it in rattle cans they can do that, too.

I went ahead and ordered a couple cans from them so we will see what happens. For anyone else wondering about this, I'll post back with results along with pictures showing how close it compares.

it sucks - I had an awesome neighbor who was a lifelong painter and body man, and I never saw anyones work come anywhere close to his. When I got the truck, the plan was for him to help with the paint and couple minor body issues I had. Unfortunately he passed away unexpectedly about 3 months ago, so I'm on my own now. Theres been so many times I've wanted to run over and ask for advice and then reality hits, and realize I cant do that anymore.

That is a shame. This is TMI but my wife is in the hospital right now having open heart surgery. It has been planned for a while but it is still nerve-wracking as he** for me. Sounds like the operation was a success anyway. It's crazy to think but they actually stop a persons heart in order to work on it.

Sorry to hear man, I know that's a tough situation for you both. I wish the best for both of you and hopefully a speedy recovery for her as well. It's amazing some of the things they can do nowadays medically. It seems like one of the most important things is catching things early and getting them taken care of, which sounds like is what yall did. Definitely thinking of you guys and wish the best!
