Part number for interior hood release latch 2011 F350
Hello,
On a cold morning I went to open my hood and my release latch under my dash broke. I have attached photos. I can't find the ford part number or an aftermarket hood latch. I found F81Z16916AB for 99-2010 trucks but nothing for the 2011-2016 generation. |
Is there a part number imprinted on the handle? Sometimes can be hard to see. Worse case is go to a Ford dealer parts department and ask for a quote just to get a part number |

So I wanted to update this thread in case anyone else ran into this issue.
Larry, that link to ebay is the same handle I have but everywhere it says that it won't fit my truck. What I discovered is that my truck uses the same handle as the 99 and up trucks. Maybe I have an early build date on this truck as its a 2011 and they were using up parts? At any rate I went to buy some doors from a guy for my 2000 and he had a carcass of a 6.0L super duty in his collection that he let me pick the handle off of. Handle is exactly the same and hood opens now! Has anyone ever made a billet copy of this part? Seems like it wouldn't be needed but this winter we were well below -40C some days and I guess the plastic didn't like the cold! Thanks guys! |
