2018 lock problems?

Recently purchased a new 2018 F150 Screw and noticed something interesting now that we have actually had a few weeks of winter weather. It seems like the power locks somewhat randomly don't work. By this I mean, last week the right rear door power lock would not work; yesterday the driver front door power lock wouldn't work very well. In both cases they could easily be locked and unlocked manually. Is this consistent with the TSB I read on the 2015-2017 models and freezing locks? To me, if the lock freezes it shouldn't work manually either, right?

Due for the first oil change in the next week or so, so I will have the dealer inspect but I'd love to hear any info out there as I"m sure they will be "unable to reproduce."

Since it`s new and still under the factory warranty, let your dealer look at it and try to figure it out.
With that being said, I`ve heard about the TSB involving doors not closing or opening but nothing involving the locks randomly not working so perhaps this is another/new issue.

There is a recall on the 2018's for the door locks as well but I think it is the same issue as the older models.

I live in So-Cal and had my 2018 serviced last week and asked about the door locks and the possible fire problem in the driverside "B" piller. They did the "B" piller recall but said they were not doing anything about the door lock freezing at this time. I don't go or drive anywhere it'r's cold or snowy so right know I'm not worried abut it. It may be a regional thing..good luck

One of the three times that my 2018 has been back for door lock issues, was for the passenger door not locking or unlocking with the power locks. That door also wouldn't open with the outside handle. It was repaired under the frozen door lock TSB.

The latest TSB available is 19-2007. It was just released in late January. Make sure it is applied when your truck goes in.

B pillar recall?
Haven't heard about that one.

Accident will cause electrical fire from insulation. They take it off....

They use a small explosive charge to activate the pre-tensioners when an accident is in progress. Apparently the charge can ignite the insulation in the B-pillar.

Thanks! Looked it up, doesn't apply to my super cab.

Well they did the TSB 19-2007 on our 2018 yesterday at the first oil change. When I arrived to pick it up this morning.... the locks still didn't work. I suppose if its a moisture problem its possible that there is still enough moisture left in the mechanism to cause problems. Guess we'll find out as I left it there again.

Between f150s, and now Super Duties, you'd think Ford would have updated or redesigned that latch by now.

I wish I could tell you that this surprised me. However, nearly the same thing happened to me. There were exactly 6 miles on my truck between the 2nd and 3rd service appointment for my lock issues. I brought it home from the dealer and they were froze again the next morning so I took it directly back.
