Fuel Pressure Gauge Setups

I read some posts awhile back that pressed the importance of having one of these to monitor the fuel pressure. I was just wondering what would be the best, easiest setup to install. Thanks.

I have this in an A pillar pod, but don't like how it flashes the lamp a lot when turning on. It's really annoying at night, and the whole thing is in general too bright at night.

it works fine as a gauge though, and it matches the interior well.

1 fuel pressure gauge 0-100psi range
1 single A-pillar gauge pod
1 adapter to convert the fuel test port to 1/8npt
1 isolator hose kit

I got all the above from Glowshift a few years ago and it works great. I also purchased a second pressure switch and harness to read coolant pressure (see pic)
Some folks prefer ISSPRO but get your wallet ready.

The pod was around 40 bucks. Glowshift gauge it with sender combo. Strictly Diesel fuel testport adapter kit thing.

I noticed due to the angle of the pic the pod looks in the way. It absolutely is not.

Almost up to eye level.

I have this for reading EGT temperature, will also work for fuel pressure. https://www.auberins.com/index.php?m...roducts_id=138
This is the sender I will get https://www.auberins.com/index.php?m...roducts_id=271

I added one to my Edge CTS. Not cheap but I liked having everything in one spot.

It's too bad that there is not a system in a round guage styple that can be programmed to display waht you want in the way you want it.
Unless someone knows about one.
I had Ed check into the thing that Banks has and they don't have one that works with our trucks yet.

What I would like is one that would show the basic things we like to keep an eye on along with EGT and
fuel pressure. With the ability to set alarm points for each item and also take a feed from the OBD2 port.
Sort of a grown up SG2 with extra add-on sensors.

You need to call Banks yourself. The gauge they offer you can add any inputs you want. And they list a universal for our trucks, atleast 05+. Go to Banks site.
heres a link to the Universal. You can buy input sensors for just about anything.

I appreciate all of the responses and pictures. I guess one of the main things I don't know about the install is whether they run the pressure electronically or if it's mechanically running through a line. I wouldn't think any of them would let fuel in the cabin. Which type are most folks using? The electronic or mechanical?

Most of the ones I see for sale are electrical pressure reading.

I'm leaning toward AutoMeter just because they have the matched OEM look, but I guess it's not worth paying for the name. They're more expensive than the ISSPro.

Autometer electric. I've had to replace the sending unit one time in 13 years and other than that it's been flawless.

Justin Jones 02-18-2019 10:59 AM

About the cheapest I can find the two Autometer gauges is through Amazon for ~ $413 and that's just for the gauges. Does anyone have a full pillar for 2 gauges? If so, how was the install? Do you lose your grab handle? Did you really have to drill into the A pillar?

Thanks.
