They look great. What size wheels and tires are they? Are those slots aftermarket? |
The wheels on the truck now are some old US Mag wheels I picked up a while back. The first mod I did on my first Mustang after I graduated High School was a set of Superior aluminum slots.

Like the slots, but love the turbines. Either way an era correct wheel is what should be on these trucks. Never liked the look of new style wheels on old school trucks or cars.

I love these on the old truck also. I had a set of the chrome wheels off of a 92 f150 on it years ago and liked those too. I'm a real fan of old school slots though. |

I’m looking to get new wheels and tires for my 79 F150 2WD long bed with stock suspension. Thinking 31s but trying to figure out what size 15 inch wheel would give it the best look. Goal is to fill the wheel wells without looking to wide and avoiding to skinny. Any suggestions would be appreciated as well as any aftermarket wheel brands that have the period correct options. The wheels/tires in your first picture seem to fit the bill. Can you share the sizes? Thanks |

Im a turbine and slot person too....someday I'm going to measure my wheel center and try and find some rear center caps, they are larger than todays standard center cap |
The first pic and current combo --- 15x8 w/30x9.50x15 tires . I was thinking about some of the chrome Ford center caps like the black ones on the old Ford wheels, just drill for the screws. I don't have the center caps for the old US wheels, they were held on with screws and the wheel centers won't work with the slip in caps I've found. No caps kind of gives an old school vibe to me.

I have a set of 15x8.5 American Racing Vector wheels. Think Dukes of Hazard Charger wheels. I'll post a pic when I get home.

I would love to run an 8-bolt slot rim on my truck... problem is the 16.5" tire size...
If 16" 8x6.5 slots (Factory) were made, I would be running slot rims. Next best thing for the 8x6.5 pattern is the old school Mickey Thompson Classic rims. Bullet holes :D |
