1989 F-150 Dust Cover, front wheels help

Ok, posted earlier about a clogged vapor line, problem solved. Now, continuing my rust restoration, the dust covers on the front wheels have completely rusted out. I have looked online and can’t find them anywhere, what should I do?

1989 F-150, 4.9l, 4X4 XTL Lariat

Thanks for any help and advice.

Dust covers...or do you mean brake/rotor shields?

NOS is all I can think of. They're Unobtainium. You may find something from LMC or JBG, but chances are slim.

A lot of us just remove them and let it be.

Maybe others will chime in.

They're nothing but trouble and you're better off removing the remaining pieces and be done with them. I'd be willing to wager that 95% of the F-series here in the Northeast are running without them.

Clarify what you mean by "dust cover". Do you mean the grease caps, or the brake shields? If it the brake shields, don't worry about them. They rust off all the time and absolutely aren't needed. If you are referring to the grease caps, you need to replace those. They should be available at any auto parts store.

This is a grease cap-

Thanks for all the advice. I am talk about the rotor dust covers. Several responses indicate just leave them off. I like that idea, since they have rusted off!
