Tow limit for 2008 f350

Hi guys im looking at buying a new bumper pull toy hauler. Its roughly 9500lbs dry and has a gvwr of 14000lbs. My 2008 is a 350 psd and srw. It has a tuner and has been chipped but that was done before i bought it. I just want to know if my eyes are bigger than my stomach here or can my truck pull this?
thanks

100% it will tow it without even thinking twice, no problem......Question is...what tuner and what tune level are you running? Can you set truck to a stock power lever for towing?

It came with a mini maxx tuner.

I dont know what edition its running on. I usually drive in a street mode. Has a tow mode as an option. The truck was modified before i bought it. Has cold air intake, the tuner, seems to have a like 6 or more radiator blocks. I dont know alot about trucks and how these things help or hurt. I appreciate any guidance.

*sorry if this was in forum.

Set tuner to tow mode......be a bit less power...but you won't notice....will also help keep egt temps within range while towing to.

Your truck is rated to tow 12,500lbs. While it will tow the 14,000lbs without a problem stock I wouldn't want to be the guy that did it and god forbid got into an accident. People have lost everything after their insurance wouldn't pay because the were found negligent.

Personally, I would not want to pull more than 10k off the bumper …look into a smaller 5er your towing experience will be much more enjoyable. And if you’re gonna tow, learn how to do it correctly. There’s way too many people that have a truck and think all they have to do is hook up a go...

Just towed 11k pounds 200 miles with no problem at all (truck in sig). Was fixing to buy a diesel because I was worried about the weight and the v10 struggling with it. It was no problem at all. Never felt unstable and felt planted and safe the whole time. Trailer did have a set of awesome trailer brakes which is HUGE... Also it was a dump trailer with no wind resistance to speak of. A travel trailer or 5th wheel will be a different game. Imagine a 14k pound parachute behind your truck. That being said, I say go for it! These trucks are pretty damn tuff. I would look up what your truck is rated for and decide from there. You do have a liability issue if you go over your weight rating. Never gave a **** about any of that until a friend got into wreck with injuries and his insurance is refusing to pay because there was a question him towing over his max weight.

I have a BP toy hauler that's 11,200lb GVW and tow it with a 2011 CCB SB 6.2L, it handles it fine, but my truck is rated at 12,500 same as the OPs. If you tow over the factory rating and get into an accident regardless whos fault it is it can and most likely will be deemed your fault because you were over loaded. At this point your insurance can and most likely will refuse to pay in which case they will come after you for all they can get.
Their is no doubt in my mind that your truck will pull a 14,000lb toy hauler the question you need to ask is should you?

Can you tow 14k? Sure. Can you do it safely is the better question.

Upgrade your hitch, ensure your tires, brakes and suspension are up to the task as well.

@WE3ZS can possibly move this to the dedicated towing Forum.
