3.0L Powerstroke Owners! Report!

I would appreciate any 3.0.L owners, posting your payload sticker rating, and a brief description of your truck... such as loaded Lariat, 18" or 20"wheels, etc.

The 3.0L truck has an increased GVWR, over the gassers, but it seems the payloads I've seen really take a hit with the 3.0L. I'm wondering what real numbers are out there.

Thanks,

Smoke

Could've sworn there were a few 3.0L owners here...

I just got a 2018 lariat diesel with 20” wheels and I really love it. It’s fully loaded. The payload is 1600 lbs. Mpg mixed and easy on the skinny is between 27 and 31.

Congratulations, but around here, none of us will believe it without pictures. Or is it camera shy?

That payload isn’t too bad considering my 2018 XLT is 1560#. Thanks for sharing.

OK, I guess crappy photos are better than no photos. First one was a cloudy day when the truck first arrived. Even though I am keeping the 2013 5.0 they seem like two very different vehicles, not like 2 F150s.

Second photo was today, truck is back from getting the spray in bed line. Cold, rain but at least no snow down here in FL.

So after driving it awhile, what’s your thoughts on the 3.0L in regards to:
Acceleration - Passing, Ramp Merging, etc.
Fuel Economy - Are you babying it to get your mileage?
Is the 3.0L underpowered at any time?
Would you buy it again?
Any downsides?
Thanks.

Not babying all the time, mpgs staying between 27.6 to 31.2. I just reset it 45 miles away, and it’s on 29.1 mpg. In the power section iIt’s not the ecoboost engine but got smooth power and great torque. I’m coming from super dutys so as soon as a great programmer pop ups I’ll be del..... Now SCT got 138 hp and 175 tq extras, hopefully will see more and better platform soon, awesome for a such lightweight truck. Not downsides yet, and I’ll buy it again for sure. My goal was mpgs because I drive 100 miles daily and it’s great doing it.

Great feedback. I drive about 750 a week or more. Not the 1,500 I did for 25 years. The 3.0L looks really appealing to me, and your information is just what I’d hoped for. I’ve driven mostly diesel Super Duty trucks for the past 20 years, and I’m in a 2018 F150 now that I like, despite the oil loss and transmission issues. I’m watching the 7.3L coming in the Super Duty, but I’m not thinking I’ll hold out until fall with my current truck. Being spoiled with my last 6.7L’s, I’m hoping I don’t expect too much from the 3.0L. I drove one over Christmas, and it was nothing like the rags reported. I really liked it. My son was all over me to buy it. You are feeding his fire.

No pictures? Aparrently, you are lying. Prove me wrong. MPG reports are required, or you can’t post anymore. 😆
