Running boards....factory or aftermarket?
Ordering a 2019 F250 4x4 CC Lariat 6.2.
I'm trying to avoid as much chrome as possible! Get the factory $695 chrome steps in the order? Or avoid that, save the money, and buy black aftermarket for less money and install myself? |
Buy Ford Raptor take-offs on Ebay, new, for $500 like I did. Save money and get OEM with better looks than the SD boards.

They are available on lower trims. XL and XLT.

Or you can go with the he 2015 and up take off black F159, only difference is they tuck up tighter to the cab, than the version for F350/250 types. Also 150 boards don’t have the middle bracket. If you can find the black 6” tube, for F250/350 and then get 6 brackets, you can have them up tighter to the cab. I’d like to do that too my chrome steps, just to lift them up a bit more. I like my chrome package, because no way will painted bumpers work for me, they just don’t stand up to winter roads. |

Yes, you can just get six brackets and raise up your existing boards. That’s what I would like to do now that Ford has replaced my old running boards with new because of imperfections and flaking in the chrome. So far, locally, I have not b n able to get my hands on enough brackets for cheap but I will keep looking. |

Are the brackets that are needed for this just F150 brackets? I thought I read this somewhere before but cannot remember. |

I have a bad one I took when I first put them on mine. I've been meaning to get more pics, but it's winter and it sucks outside

Was in same boat as you - ordered my truck with no steps and scored a set of OE takeoffs on eBay from a dealer There are so many styles - I grabbed a set of the skinnier steel ones which were magnetic color, I think they came off a platinum I think 4 bills ? Came with all the hardware and factory brackets. |
