Gauges, monitor, or what to use with T6 tuner

Hey guys Merry Christmas! So I found out I am getting a tuner for Christmas. I am wondering on what gauges I should get or if I should just get a monitor such as an old evolution one or what I should do. I don’t have that much money and don’t really want to spend an extra $100 to mount them on the window rail handle area. Anyone mounted them else where or any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Below are some mounting options, I use the glow shift quad pod, it fits and works fine. There’s a lot of love/hate for Glow shift but if they work. I run Autometer gauges but they’re $$$$. IMO, EGT, Transmission, fuel and boost are the important ones. Transmission and oil temperature can be read from the PCM. EGT’s are important if you tow. Boost and fuel pressure can be very helpful diagnosing how healthy everything is.

EGTs, boost and transmission temp are the most important ones to monitor.

Thanks Colorado350. I have torque pro so I can monitor transmission but that would still leave 3-4 gauges to get which still comes out to like $300 bucks. I just have a hard time spending that much money I don't have. What do you think about a bullydog tuner being used just for monitoring since you can add on the egt to that and still monitor boost and temperatures...I am new to tuning so just a thought. Ive seen a couple for around $100-150 in the area. Or would I be ok with just getting e egt monitor and monitoring the rest with torque pro? Sorry for all the questions thinking out loud.

‘I didn’t have the money to buy all the gauges at one time so I bought the quad pod and Autometer EGT gauge. Eventually I bought the transmission, then fuel and boost gauges. I found the Autometer Coolant gauge on eBay on an auction, got very lucky. You can buy very basic gauges that do the job. I’m not familiar with the Bully or the one you link too. I’m sure someone will come along with opinions. It’s the internet after all. If you already can monitor the transmission then I would look for a EGT gauge then fill in the blanks as you go. :-drinks

IF you can monitor the transmission temp now then you can just get a dual pod setup with a boost and egt gauge. If you think gauges are expensive, that price is nothing compared to what it will cost if you engine gets damaged because you had no way to monitor it.

oh yeah I understand that. I just want to make sure I monitor the right things and try not to break the bank. I actually just found a set of three used on eBay and a pillar that comes out to just over $200. Trans, boost, and egt.

Boost is on OBDII, as are transmission temp, engine oil temp, torque converter slip, battery volts, and exhaust backpressure (in the form of Turbo Pressure Differential - TPD). These are all things I monitor while driving. I don't watch them, I just have them on my 7" tablet for quick reference, and I have alarms programmed in if something goes out of spec.

I have dual EGTs and fuel pressure on the round dials, plus I added a high-range boost gauge because of my upgrades.

I have used their PIDs for non-automotive projects. They are excellent (scientific grade) products but there are cheaper alternatives.
