Soften the ride of an empty F350
MY son-in-law got a good deal on a 2017 F350 STX with 6.2L. He was shopping for a F250, but this was a good deal. However, most everyone knows what an empty F350 rides like ! They will be towing a trailer, but it is less than 8,000 lbs.
Any ideas on improving the empty ride quality ? |
Let a bunch of air out of the tires. From there, the mods get more expensive.

Lower the tire pressure! Try 50 PSI when unloaded. Adjust appropriately when loaded.

Yes. Use FORScan to adjust that. I did.

Im not sure what the factory recomended pressure is on the 350 but on my 250 i run cold 51 in the fronts and 61 in the rears with no light. I throw tpms if it drops below 50 in the front and 58 in the rear. The ride quality is dramatically better then when its set at the loaded recommendation of cold 60f 70r. |
For you guys that use forscan..... does ford give you any problems for adjusting from factory parameters? Had a bad experience with GM because i adjusted for tire size increase of 5%. No other adjustments and no tune. They were adamant about voiding my powertrain warranty..... |

They would have a tough time figuring out changes you have made. Plus, all the changes you make are technically changes they have designed and written anyways. |

F250 rear springs and put the lightest front spring available for the gas motor in the front. And change shocks. Sulastic rear shackles?
17 inch wheels with 315/70/17, can get those below E rating and still decent capacity. Little light duty for the superduty but will work. Not much else unless you want to spend big bucks. |
