Leveling F150
Just picked up a nice little 'project truck', wanna do some small things to it but for now I am wondering what is a better (more reliable, solid) brand of leveling kit that wont kill me on the price? Im looking into them for my 95 F150 EXT Cab, 2WD. Also, any ideas what websites to order from? Ive heard the carid and jcwhitney are scam sites? I don't really believe that but Id like to make sure before I use my credit card on them sites. Also, if you have any tips for installation (unexpected difficulties) I'd like to hear it from some experts.

I just used 1 1/2" coil spacers to level my 150 2WD. They worked just fine and did the job. Available about every where for 30-50 bucks. Sandy

Superlift 117 leveling coil springs are what my friend and I use. It rides better too. I think BDS makes some also.

Just order 460 springs from RockAuto. Worked well on my son's 95 F150/302.

A set of Moog Coil Springs - Part number CC802 raised the front of my truck about 2 inches and made it set near lever...handles better too. It has a stance like a 4WD now. They are less than $70 on Amazon.

As an aside, I ordered a tow hitch from J.C. about 3 years ago. The box was damaged in shipping, resulting in missing parts. They took care of it promptly. |
I'm planning on lifting the front of my '95 4X4 to level it, but I'm going to couple it with new ball joints and tie rod ends. Might as well rebuild it all and then get an alignment done. Mine will have to wait until spring when the weather gets nice again.

I ordered Belltech part number 6700 which lowers the back 1". Just got it in and will install it tomorrow. Ill post before and after pictures but so far it seems like it may not lower it that much. We shall see tomorrow.

You don't mention if you want to lift the front, or lower the rear. I'd like to lower the rear of my truck to match the front, but I don't want to lower it's weight carrying capacity.

Also, while I am asking some questions: what else should I replace that wouldn't be too hard to take off and put a new part back on if Im replacing and taking off springs? Everything on the truck is original, and pretty rusty from these midwestern winters... Im trying to get this truck so that no brown is seen, so practically brand new. Just wondering if from a aesthetical aspect and a safety aspect if I should replace parts there, to either OEM or upgrade it. Thanks for all the input so far!

Just remember any kind of leveling on the front end is going to induce positive camber. You may need to install alignment bushings as well. RockAuto has em for cheap.
