I open mine once a year to make sure it is clean and lube it up a bit. I do roll back the shade on occasion when the weather is cool or I am driving up in the mountains. My truck came with it so I deal with it.

I had a 2016 F250 with the much smaller moonroof. Never had a leaking issue, but did experience significant noise issues when driving into strong head winds even closed. Wind noise from the moon roof would get so bad your couldn't carry on a conversation in the front seat. On the few occasions I did used the moon roof, I found the additional light and noise to be bothersome. I thought about adding one of the deflectors to the front, but could not find one that would fit with the cab marker lights.

My wife has a 2014 Explorer Limited with the giant moon roof. To date we have not had any leak issues, however, there is some additional wind noise even with the interior 'screens' closed. Additionally, when the sun is beating down, the ceiling is noticeably hotter than my F250 without a moon roof.

I opted not to order the moon roof on my 2022 SD.

My ‘19 gets a pretty annoying rattle/creak/groaning from the back of the fixed panel of glass. No sticking or leaking issues. Dealer has “addressed” a couple of times only to return. Definitely to the point of thinking of dumping the truck just over that.
