December 2018 Get Ready for Christmas and the New Year BS Fling
 

Good Night November and all the turkey trimmings and hello December Christmas trimmings.
And another month has pasted way too fast and this year is a hurry for pass. I don't know where it wants to go this quick but we are getting there!
Wish I had a profound statement or saying but I don't.
So may everyone have a great night ending November and starting the weekend and December.

Good Morning Shaun and how are things up northeast?
Soggy here and 52°. Day off and wife and I are setting home being lazy for once.

I'm doing okay. Been busy with a few things yesterday. Started to load for the reenactment next weekend. Then found out about the earthquake in Anchorage. I have a relative that lives in Anchorage so called my mom to see if she could reach her and make sure she was okay. Luckily she is.

Howdy Rod, all WVa and Shaun. Glad to hear your relative is OK after the earthquake.

How is Maryland today, Wet?

Would be a Rev. War reenactment. The Battle of Great Bridge. The courageous forces of His Majesties 14th Regiment of Foote, The Queens Loyal Virginians, The Loyal Ethiopian regiment, a few sailors try to defend against some malcontents trying to start trouble.

Sounds like a good time.
Here is the one I did the most. Went to a couple others in WV.
This one is 15 miles away.
Battle of Hurricane Bridge, Skirmish of Hurricane Bridge, Battle of Scary Creek.

Ours is a fun little event. musket fire all day, some cannon fire as well.

They also fire off the cannons for about 2 hours one night after dark. Pretty impressive!

One of the 1812 events I have been to is alot of fun. We would go to Ontario for this one. We would storm the fort and take it from the British. Then the British would attack at noon. Then they would attack at dusk. The dusk battle is the most fun because teh Niagara Park commision brings a pyrotechnics company in to wire teh battlefield with pyrotechnic charges and sets them off as the battle progresses culminating in the powder magazine explosion. ( recreated safely of course.) Talk about alot of fun.
