1991-1994 Explorer Sport V8 Swap Info Wanted...

Hello friends,
I own an all original 1994 Explorer Sport (2-door), two-wheel drive, 4.0L V6, 5-speed, 8.8" & 3.27:1 rear differential.
I've been considering a V8 swap for some time.
I've been open to an automatic or standard transmission with the V8.
Haven't decided which way to go on the engine with 4V-carb or fuel injection, mainly until I understand the complications with the existing Explorer wiring for the fuel injected 4.0L V6 that's in there now.
I have access to an early non-roller 302-4V engine as well as a 1993 Mustang Foxbody 5.0L fuel injected roller engine - and both engines are complete...
Can anyone offer a Coles-Notes summary of the overall scope of this type of engine swap from the electrical-electronic perspective.
I do not have any difficulty with the actual V8 swap and installation challenges as I have been involved in a couple early Ranger V8 swaps as well as S-10 V8 swaps.
If I can get some modern-day information on this challenge as well as any modern-day vendors for the V8 swap parts then I am on my way.
The electrical-electronic interface is more challenging to me but not out of my skills to sort through, with help of course.

In a current 1987 Ranger V8 swap I'm assisting with, my friends have installed a 1995 Mustang 5.0L engine (with Explorer intake) complete with 1995 Mustang wiring harness as well as the full 1995 Mustang dash retro-fitted to the Ranger interior. It is coming along nicely and hopefully will be ready for initial fire-up around Xmas holiday time. I'll add a photo once I get that sorted out.

Many thanks in advance to everyone.
