use the OEM one. Reese makes it. You should be able to find it on amazon.

Be aware: if you use the AUH on a gooseneck ball (as I am) on top of the Ford puck system (as I am) then the remaining bed pucks are inaccessible - the AUH covers them. I don't see this as a problem - but you may. So purchasing either ball kit (shown above) that provides tie-down capability to the (now covered) pucks is wasted, just get the ball. Three states DO require safety chains, if you're one of them Anderson provides a solution kit, selling the chains and an attachment plate that mount over the ball but under the hitch. Going by memory (I haven't seen it in months) but I believe my removable ball is from Curt. As I didn't need the additional links they sold me the ball separate (then reordered one to replace the now missing ball). |

Ok do I need reese 19315 or 19311 ball…?
I guess 19315 ball is with a riser. Will the Anderson fit the ball w riser? |
As I'm not familiar with what the 'riser' offers I would ask the seller/dealer of your new hitch which ball(s) they recommend for use with the Ford puck system.
In my weakened mind I believe my dealer set me up with the Curt; was is because it was the best, or provided him the greatest profit, or simply what he had in stock? All I can swear to is ... it works for me. |
Andersen makes an adapter that fits over the ball that I use for safety chains. I am not in one of the states but feel a bit safer with the chains on.
