Brake disc

Hey have any of you did a disc brake conversion? If so did you just go to lmc or ndp;? Or did you go to the salvage yard and use a newer vehicles brake assembly, and if so which vehicle did you use ? Which vehicles have the same Dimensions for the spindles etc, and how does it work for you?

Aftermarket only. Nothing is an easy / bolt in swap from a salvage yard newer Ford

So what did you use ? Which vehicle did you choose the brakes from what would be the best

The booster and Master cylinder I used came from a 1973 F150, that can come from a salvage yard. The rest needs to come from a vendor. I used a kit from ECI, It included a laser cut backing plate that makes everything work. It uses GM calipers, F150 rotors and they change the bearings and races to match up with our spindles. Not something you can go get from a salvage yard.

I used a kit from Speedway. Several thousand miles on it and it works well.

So I went with speed way motors disc brake kit and visited a couple salvage yards here in town, I picked up Both the power booster and master cylinder for a nice price. Thanks fellas for the insight

Did you get the mounting bracket for the booster? It provides the space that allows the booster to clear the clutch master cylinder. Then you have to make the push rod longer. Works great.

I didn’t but I will. I won’t actually put the piece on the fire wall until I get my boy work right like your. That paint job is nice.
