Exhaust - is this normal?
In the process of changing out the wheels and tires for the winter I noticed both mufflers show signs of what I thought was leaking - https://i.postimg.cc/7L7Z9RyM/D09421...BD76-C5-D6.jpg According to my Ford dealer this is normal for Fords? Apparently Ford have ‘weep’ holes in the mufflers to allow condensation to escape to prevent rotting from the inside out. Any thoughts/comments on this? Looks like a fault to me and should be replaced under warranty. John |
It is normal and there are weep wholes in it.

Thanks for the feedback. Still doesn’t seem right to me but I guess I’ll monitor it over the winter and see how it develops. |
That condition is actually worse, without the weep holes. Aftermarket mufflers rust out from the inside. Nothing that you can do about condensation. Even worse when the vehicle is not driven regularly. As temperature changes from day to night, or from cold to warm during the day, condensation is natural. You see it in the morning, where everything is covered in dew. Under your car, where there is no sunlight, the condensation collects and the moisture does not evaporate. In cold environments, it could be worse. In hot, dry climates, there is less humidity.
