48 f1 brake booster

I’ve got a firewall mounted brake setup with a 7” single diaphragm booster. I’m replacing my pedal and brake setup with the cpp pedal assembly and was wondering if I should upgrade my booster to a dual diaphragm booster or if anyone thinks the 7” single is fine.

When you say you're replacing your 'brake setup' what does that mean, exactly? How do your brakes work now? Why are you changing things?

I have a firewall mounted master cylinder and brake booster. The firewall is flexing like crazy so I’m going to replace it with a peddle setup that is made for a 48-52 f1. I’m also having a problem with soft spongie brakes due to the brake booster rod not being adjusted properly. I figured that since I was ordering the peddle assembly I’d just order a new master cylinder and booster also. Western chassis is were I ordered all this from and they are suggesting a dual diaphragm booster. Im trying to figure out if I really need the dual diaphragm or not.

When it comes to boosters, more is typically better. Here's a brief tutorial on the why's and wherefore's of power brakes from one of the leading aftermarket brake companies you may find helpful.

Thanks for the info. I'm at the point of planning my systems. I am concerned about the firewall too. I bought some nice Wildwood brakes, not installed yet.
my question is about a clutch pedal. Should both pedals be replaced? What have others done??

I added braces from the firewall to the bottom of the dash on my 49 and it doesn't flex any. Why not try this before you change everything?

I used a 9 inch dual diaphragm booster for my 49 and was very happy with it.
