Wiring diagram to troubleshoot airbag?

Hi all! I have the Ford FSM on DVD from '96-02, which has been a valuable resource for me. The problem is I scratched it and can no longer read it. I did grab an iso image of the DVD while it was good, but for some reason burning a new one creates a disc that doesn't run. SO, I am looking for a link to any wiring diagrams and troubleshooting info for my 1997 E350 with 7.3. I've got an airbag light on; I think it's flashing 1-5. Any info on known issues like a spot to look for a chafed/shorted wire would be great if anyone has run into this.
Thanks!
-Gerry

You should be able to Google search that DTC to find its meaning. Those codes are listed in the WSM but should be readily available online too. YouTube another possibility too.

With the .iso file you've created---does it need burned to an actual disc to view its contents?

Sorry I can't be more specific or helpful. FWIW I'd grad another Workshop Manual on disc, maybe two just in case? :) I keep mine as safe and snug as possible but know they're invaluable when needed

I'm pretty new to this airbag stuff but I've been chasing the same problem and came across this diagram saying that if any of the heavy black lines can be traced to ground then you have a short. If you remove the blue airbag control module you can see the pin numbers in it (down in the bottom next to the pins) and then find the corresponding pins on the two connectors. If you get continuity to ground on 10, 12, 17 or 18 on the harness side, there's your bad circuit. Beyond that I can't tell you where to find the components and subsequent harnesses on the vehicle, I've only owned it for a couple hours. Mine showed no rogue paths to ground so I'm hoping that it was an "intermittent battery connection" issue that caused the internal fuse to kick out. Hoping this helps any future users searching this problem.

Uh.... WHAT?

You used the actual, very expensive, DVD? You didn't rip the contents to your PC and then burn a copy to use????

We need a tutorial on how to do this sort of thing---I have a number of the WSM's on CD-ROM that are "expired" and must have the system clock reset each time they're used. The actual physical disc also needs to be in a readable drive to access the info.

I've read the ***** program "runasdate" can be used to hack the embedded date on each disc but I've not been able to utilize that to any degree of success.

eBay still has a large selection of WSM's in both printed and CD-ROM versions---its where I've obtained all my info in this format.
