Have you ever seen a 1979 like it?

1979 F250 custom 4 door 4x4 flareside. 400ci. I've looked around but can't find anything quite like it. One guy on here said it may have been gov't issue. Let me know! Oh, I just bought it. No rust, 5000 miles on rebuilt engine.

How rare is this 79?

Never seen one before, but it looks awesome!

Definitely not one you see every day, nice ride.

Beautiful rig!! Is it factory original? I think the warranty plate will say which bed it came with.

I'm pretty sure I've seen government, and fleet, regular-cab F250s with the long Flare Side bed. (140" wheelbase) Highway construction, gas & electric utility company trucks, etc...

I've thought about this combination in my head plenty of times. Pretty cool to actually see one. Nice find!

Yep, cross referenced numbers on website. It's all original. I thought same thing about flareside being swapped, but it checked out. Thanks for your reply!

Nice looking truck.

I am sure if the dealer knew how to order the truck anyone that wanted one could get it.
Had a bump 250 4x2 that was bought new, dad bought from the owner who ordered it, that was a crew and LB flare.
The owner added a 2nd fuel tank on the front side of the left rear fender where the spare tire would go on the older truck.
The owner had a side in camper that went over the full cab and off the back by at least 3 feet, that is all the truck was used for till dad got it less camper.

Think it had a 360 with 4sp granny first don't know what rear gear it had but did not seam bad at high way speeds of 60 MPH.
I can tell you it was a L O N G truck and not much fun in town.

Back when these trucks were new, the Texas Highway Department had some like that. There were very few crew cabs built in those days with any bed style. I realize that today’s four door truck fad makes one like this very desirable.

Can we get more pics of this beauty?

Thanks for the quick response. That's a really nice truck.

I will agree with all that you have a great looking truck and won't see many in the flare side bed style. It looks great and I'm sure people will always stop and ask question when you take it on the road. Sweet ride and enjoy it.
