I need this part!
 

Hi all,

I need a plastic trim piece for the front drivers seat. The piece that has the lumbar support switch on it. I have the 40/20/40 split bench, without power. Mine is broken and I tried gluing it with little success. My interior is opal gray. If anyone has one, let me know. Thanks.

So I'm facing similar issues with the plastic failing on my truck. For now have you tried epoxy? That seems to last the longest. The trick is to be sure your part is super clean. Then you might want to contact your local bone yards and see if you can get on a call list. IOW they'll contact you if the part shows up on their systems. They are all on a shared system. Also if you have a Pick A Part or equivalent, you might get lucky. No after market stuff along those lines. Only dashes and door panels. Good Luck!

​​​​​​Well the part that broke off is the forward most hole for the trim screw. It was already cracked when I got the truck, but I accidentally kicked it getting out of the truck after work on Saturday and broke it completely. It's not a really clean break eaither, the pieces didn't fot together very well. But I cleaned them up and first tried cyanoacrylate glue, or Super glue. That held until I sat on the seat. Then I tried using JB Weld and it peeled off like I put it on wax paper, it just didn't stick at all. Now I spent some more time roughing up the surface and cleaning the pieces and bought a tube of JB "Plastic Bonder" Epoxy at Home Depot and I'm trying it. I glued the pieces together and put them in a vise to clamp them with some pressure. Maybe it'll work. If it doesn't, I'm just gonna leave the piece off until I find a replacement. I've checked the pic a parts and came up empty.

Do you have a picture of the piece installed? I have a basic bench seat, so it's hard to reconcile where exactly the piece you're looking for would go. I will keep my eyes peeled at the Pull-a-Part!

Here's a picture of it installed. The JB Weld Plastic Bonder Epoxy I used seems to be holding okay, so I reinstalled it for now until I find a replacement. I'd very much appreciate you keeping an eye out for one. Thanks!

Doesn't help you now, but I'm pretty sure most of the interior trim is ABS plastic.
I think a clear ABS cement would be superior when joining broken pieces back together.

Epoxy and screen on the back side, after roughing up the surface would make for a good reinforcement of the cracked area.

The JB Weld Plastic Bonder stuff seems to be holding pretty well, but if it does break, ABS cent will be my next attempt. Hopefully it doesn't come to that though.
