As indicated by the title, this post is not intended to open the age old discussion on edelbrock vs. holley. However, I am wondering if anyone has tried the new street avenger holleys and found them to be as trouble free as an edelbrock. I drive and need my vehicle running and I dont have time to play with adjustments. Holley puts a lifetime warranty on it, so it cant be all bad, but I've had terrible experience with Holleys in the past and I dont want to go down that road again. My edelbrock simply doesnt have enough umph anymore. Question again: Has anyone used the Street Avenger 670 or other street avenger carbs and found them to be trouble free? What is the general consensus on Demons? Lets have a decent discussion, not a holley vs edelbrock war.

We have a 670 on my cousins mustang, no problems what-so-ever, beautifully running carb. On a daily stay away from a Demon, as a friend of mine once put it "there is a reason they call them that!"
On the Holley vs whatever debate; I think it is the adjustablity that people are afraid of that makes them such great carbs for any application.

It is a flat tappet 302 with a mild cam, edelbrock single plane intake, backed up by a c4. It has been on there since earlier this year. It used to be but is down for body work recently.
The carb is very responsive, crisp throttle response, great drivability, and relatively good mpg considering the car. I tuned it when I put it on, haven't touched it since, and don't expect to have to for a long time (much like many other street cars I have had with Holleys).

Love it on my vette (SBC). 670cfm, ran great out of the box. almost 7 months now. Buddy likes his on his 289 65 stang, too.

they have a lifetime warranty on street avengers. it covers parts and labor for the first year after that, it is only parts.

it's intersting to hear about how the Street Avengers are good carbs for street use. I've owned everything except a Predator, which is why I love Edelbrock/Carter the best. It's possible to match the fuel economy of an Edelbrock with a Holley or Demon, but requires fuel metering block modifications, and a great deal of time. I'll bet that Holley has done most of this for you in the new line of carbs, it only took them 15 years to respond!

Fuel economy? You do know Ford ran Holleys factory on vehicles that got great mpg, right? I have run box stock aftermarket Holleys on cars that got better mpg than similar EFI cars. The brand of carb has so little to do with it.
