No crank no start. Dead cluster

04 F150 Stx 4.6 manual locks and windows
Ok need some help. Backed my boat in the garage, went out an hour later truck will do nothing. Won’t crank. Dome lights don’t work and no power to the cluster and ticking noise from dash when keys are out. Fuel pump kicks on. Checked battery it’s good. Relays and fuses are good. Anti theft lights blinks rapidly for one minute. Cleaned battery cables. Checked battery ground. Can’t find anything. We’ve had a lot of rain lately, pulled the fuse box off everything looks good and dry

How about your grounds inside of cab there are some near your fuse panel .You may need to bring a long jumper from battery to use for test light. You could supply inside point with negative straight to battery neg. Or use jumper neg to test for 12vdc where it should be. Do your headlights come on. that is a load test of sorts .You can use a meter for test but a 12vdc lamp tells you visually it is there and provides a small load in case its a weak connection .Meters don't draw any load .Many times corrosion will eat up a wire inside especially in salt country .Frame grounds must be clean .You can bring positive or negative to cab with your jumper to use as a reference but remember its un- fused unless you put one in line with it at battery end .
We have some more tricks besides this .

Headlights work . Ground wire at the fuse panel is fine.

If the headlights work or " Anti theft lights blinks rapidly for one minute ", then to say the truck " will do nothing " is incorrect. You need to be explicit about symptoms, particularly about what does and does not work.

Ignition “does nothing”. the rest is listed

Just wanted to get you testing .Pcm must give permission to start relay by supplying ground to one side of start relay. The other side 12vdc is controlled by trans selector etc . Beginning to look like you have pats system error as well as something else .
I can give you some schematics and some tricks ,have you got another key to test .don't have sch on this laptop .Since you backed up and it quit I suggest looking at transmission selector sw and linkage .
We have to ask certain question to try and zero in . We are not there and are not sure what you have tried . Okay your headlights tell us that you may have good battery feed to some of it . We can give you a jump test for starter bypassing trans selector switch/start relay just to eliminate that possibility . Since you may have a double fault . But at this point the pats system doesn't look good .

Pull the kick panels on both sides of the cabin and inspect the grounding studs and connections for corrosion or other issues.

You have more than just a PATS issue, it just happens to be a visible manifestation of whatever fault is present.

Need a few more details:

Is this a 2004 "New Body Style" or a 2004"Heritage" aka "Leftover 2003 sold as a 2004"?
Where, as precisely as you can judge, does that " ticking noise from dash when keys are out " seem to originate?
Try to inventory what appears to work correctly.

Start relay circuit

More than likely pcm signal not there

new body style. And it’s the flasher under the dash going crazy, almost as the battery is dead.

I tried my 2nd key and get the same results. I was leaning towards something to do with the pats and maybe it not recognizing both my keys somehow. I talked to a ford tech he said it would have nothing to do with the pat because it would still turn over? He says a bad ground or a short somewhere.

thank you all so much for your help. Sho89 I checked every ground wire except the one behind the driver kick panel and sure enough that was it. After tackling this project I have now realized the floor boards are about shot due to all the rust. Ive has this truck since I was 19 and I plan to drive it until it isn’t possible.

Red and projectSHO I'm having similar but little different issue. Should I make new post or add to this post?
