Ford Mexico tune help
Has anyone on here flashed their truck with the factory ford mexico tune that allows you to remove the muffler? I'm just curious as to how that works... I have the tune file for hptuners and also hptuners. Do I need to buy credits for engine and trans or just engine? Do I need to do a segment swap or something to get it to match my vin? Thanks in advance.

You need to continue doing some preliminary research 1st.
Sounds like this is your 1st diesel, and clearly you have a lot to learn, hint, there is no muffler on the 6.7. |

We all knew you meant dpf. That would be awesome to get a Mexico tune. I've never thought about the fact they don't have emissions.

I thought from this earlier thread you couldn't do this without a tuner, etc. I don't know how to make this earlier link hot. |
The delete tunes are from MX - they don't have any DPF or DEF down there.

I'm old and slow so there's that but what would be the advantage of using Mex tunes? Why not use your tuner and do a standard delete with tunes available in the states?? If you remove the dpf and use block off plates etc what is the advantage?

Don't run an export calibration. It's garbage. All tunes before true custom tuning was available for the 2017+ Super Duty 6.7s were derived from the Ford export calibration. Truck actually felt weaker and it soot loaded the oil really bad. If you are wanting to delete, just use a reputable tuner and be done with it. |
The export tunes are horrible! Don't use them, they are junk. You need to understand the rest of the world is okay with turbo lag, and odd short powerbands. The tunes also create more soot than necessary, get a real delete tune at stock calibration.

I wanted to go this route mainly for warranty.

also realistically with the mexico tune file and my stock file i can copy all the stock fueling tables over (all the mode 0 are out of regen)

Think Ford is gonna honor your warranty with an export calibration in the States? |
