1996 f150 core support mounts
As most know the 92-96 haltons and Broncos have different frame then other years and the heavier trucks but every company sells the core support mounts for the straight frame trucks but listing them for the 92 to 96 as well, and with my truck those mounts are gone, has any one every replaced these and what was done to make them work? All help is appreciated

How bad are yours? JGB sells frame savers that weld in the top section. I have seen other's just use the F250/350 mounts, but I don't know how they made them work

That's interesting.I thought they were the same as the trucks.I guess because they're sold as such.

Geez I sure can't tell the difference. What's supposedly different about them? Here's a mount I had to change on my F250...........Oh right, right, right.I gotcha now because of the crumble zone a replacement mount bracket you don't think will work.I'm on board now.
I would imagine it would still work just fine.So what if there are a few gaps from the frame ripple? I can't see that........oh wait,no that could cause alignment issues right? If the mount doesn't sit in flush where it needs to be. You searched the forums here and came up empty on this? https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...709637cb00.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...5bd0d9c90a.jpg |

On the truck that needs the work the sides that are welded on to the frame are good but the actual mount part is basically rusted in half and the shape is gone for the bushing. I've seen people do that as well and they just say to measure and I've been looking for an easier way, so you have a link for the savers?
https://shop.broncograveyard.com/198...ctinfo/33108A/ See my bad one on my F250 was the same way.Solid on the sides but rusted out in the middle.I opted to just replace the mount of course but if you suspect issues being you have the crumble zone, you can go that route and Bobs your Uncle. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...53ba5ea6a4.jpg |
Where are the full frame mounts located for sale? i have a need for a set for my 85....

Looking at your pic here,it looks like another option might be,to use the HD mount but cut out a center section of it so the center crumple zone ripple can stick out through it.You may need to weld the thing on and or drill some new mount holes but that might be another option too.
It's too bad it's done this way. When you look at it,it looks like poor planning. Why put the crumple zone so far back where the mount is,if your going to weld on a bracket to each side of one of the ripples, basically nullifying that ripple anyway (well at least, reducing it's function greatly) since it gets reinforced with a bracket? Looks like the zone should of started closer to the bumper and stopped before the rad mount. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...703afe6259.jpg |
