Aftermarket air condititioning

Hello All- I've got a 75 SWB custom package that did not have air conditioning or the dash vents. Am interested in having aftermarket under dash AC installed. Does anyone have any pictures they can share as to what it looks like inside the cab installed? Also, does it keep it cold enough in the cab? Recently overhauled the interior and installed dynamat on the floor and back wall under the window. I have to think that should help insulate it some. I appreciate all your pictures and thoughts!

Check Nostalgia Air. Site has photos. And yes, it'll cool your cab. It'll cool much better than a 1975 factory unit would have. I installed their unit in a CJ7 with no floor or roof insulation and it's wonderful!

Hi, I went with them and I really like the kit came fast and in good order. I got the in dash version they helped me with all my questions pleasure to deal with.
I have not "fired" it up yet so cant tell you how it works yet still in the middle of the restro getting ready to put cab back on frame.

Went with NAC and I have yet to install the kit. Everything seems great other than they advertise you can use your factory controls if you want to keep
the factory look. Reality is the factory controls do not function the same with the kit, which was a bummer

Thanks guys! It looks like with the Nostalgic air kit, they only have vents for the dash, correct? My dash doesn't have any vents and i'd really like to not cut holes for them. I think I'd rather mount the under dash hanging unit. Any pics or experience?

Hi, none personally I went with the in dash kit. It wasnt a big deal to cut the holes. I didnt want the stuff hanging down and I wanted to keep my original heater box. But they have both kits on their site go check them out. Good luck!

My truck had an aftermarket under dash unit when I bought it, but I did not take pics. It was really old and I don't think it's available now. I also would prefer an under dash unit but all the ones I've found won't work in 73-79 trucks.

Cutting the vent holes in the dash is no big deal. Or you could pull a dash panel from a junk yard. Even the most rusted out trucks usually have clean dash panels. That's probably what I'll do.
