Electric Cowl Vent
How many of you converted to an electric actuator to operate your cowl vent and how did you do it?
Photos would be great. 48-52 F1 and 53-56 F100 Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance Dan |
Seems to me that it wouldn't be that difficult to have a linear actuator with adjustable built in limit switches just operating the lever.

I was just looking at the Mid Fifty parts catalog and they have a power cowl vent actuator listed on page 102.

I was thinking of using a linear actuator - much cheaper than Midfifty. Just curious what others have used
Thanks Dan |
I like the idea of it, but I don't mind just reaching under the dash and pulling the lever. I know alot of guys that just weld it up and delete it, but to me this is a part that makes the truck great, especially if you get it to seal. I was told the secret to sealing it is getting suction with the seal.

I used this one http://www.millstoneautomotive.com/pcav5355.html It works great! I put AC in, but I wanted the vent to continue to work because I think it looks cool.
