Disturbing picture of my Raptor after going through a tornado

I went to go see my mother in the hospital so it was a 9 hour drive, on the way home me and my 18 year old daughter got caught right in the middle of 2 tornado's with my Raptor. It was so bad before we pulled over a semi trailer started to get pushed into our lane and missed my truck by inches then we pulled over and the tornado went over us, it blew out my back window and a ton of baseball size hail damage. We found out later there were 3 tornado's by us. Now the drivers side did not get touched and the front clip is fine but the passenger side door and back door and back and roof is dented all to hell. With my Raptor being a 2013 fully loaded with 54k miles will it be totaled or what. What you are about to see hurts me very bad, this was my baby, me and my daughter are fine but my Raptor did not make it through ok, so will it be totaled or not, please give me your honest opinion. My Raptor saved us and drove it the rest of the way home, This truck withstood a tornado and let us live. Got to love the Raptors

In my opinion it is total. I don't see any possibility of repair. Just glad to hear everyone is safe. Your family is the only thing that can't be replaced.

Yea I just got back from the shop, $70,000 in damage and the front clip is perfect and the drivers side is perfect, I am now heartbroken

I am sorry.... to you, to me for looking at this.... that is heartbreaking!!

BillRes2 08-30-2018 07:04 PM

Am I reading this right??? $70,000? You can buy a new one for that much.
argh!!! I have always worried about hail when traveling in the Tornado Belt.
Sorry about all the hassles that come with this type of event.
Regards and Sympathies
Bill...
P.S. If its $70K , are they going to total the Truck?

Late to the party I know...but screw the truck...the important thing is that you and your daughter are OK!!! The glass...rubber...steel...can easily be replaced...tough to replace the people.

Even if there's 70 gees in damage...your insurance company is only going to give you fair market value for the truck...do your research and be ready for them.

Poor Raptor! Surprised with the repair that price that much.

70k!!! how much could a couple new doors, new bed ( actually half a bed ) and a window cost, I wouldn’t even worry about the roof.

Battle scars

That is horrible to see but great to read seeing as it kept yall safe and kept trucking. Just find somewhere on that side and paint or find nice lettering, and put, Tornado strong. Lol let it tell its story

This is truly terrible and looks beyond repair but you and your family's safety is more important.

I bet Ford would love that true life event for Raptor Marketing and they should hand you a brand new Raptor.

Make that story go viral with a national news cut.

Good luck and glad you and your daughter are safe and healthy.

I agree, thank the Lord you guys are safe ~ if you love that truck ~ and are willing to do it yourself that truck can be brought back ~ bit of work ~ but ```

I would take as much money the insurance company gives you the buy it back from them.
The I would go to an airbrusgh artist and make all those dents look like
bullet holes. Turn the truck into a piece of rolling art.

This above is a great idea!

What happened to the truck in the end? Was it totaled or saved?
