Running light quit working

I have a utility trailer and my day lights quit working all of a sudden, I am not getting power to the brown wire on my harness, I have brake lights, turn lights but no day lights, marker lights.... I have tested the fuses under the dash and all seem to be ok, I tested the two fuses in the black box drivers side by the firewall..... I pull my trailer at night and need these lights can anyone help me.... I am at a loss

Check to see if it’s broken/frayed/corroded somewhere?

Bigddy7856 07-15-2018 07:23 PM

I have the same problem

I have replaced all my light bulbs in the dash included mine went out when I was driving down a washboard Road I have to check my relay switch under the dash I pulled up my main fuse box on the driver side I found a bunch of frayed wires fixed them all I'm still having this problem I've checked almost everything that I can think of I even bought a switch and it was not the problem from what I understand there's many problems to this

Bjbeard 07-15-2018 07:28 PM

No frayed wires

I have check all this, and nothing..... some say there is a fuse box under the hood, I found a fuse box with two fuses and two relays and that is all, is there another one?

Bigddy7856 07-15-2018 07:32 PM

There's a relay under the dash you can get to it threw an ashtray or some other thing under the cup holder do you stick your arm all the way to the left and you'll find any of them pull the cover off and there's three fuses one is your running light relay also called a parking light relay I believe I have mine is between the switch and the fuse box

There is a big one next to the relays. I thinks it's #5or#8 30 amp fuse

There are none of the regular blade fuses in my box, they are all the mini blade fuses

Ok I replaced tested the 30 amp before I replaced it and it's working fine...

I did notice when retestiyg my box that I have several on the right side of my box that are not lighting up when tested... could this be a relay issue?

Bigddy7856 07-15-2018 08:42 PM

I had to work trailer would blow my fuse wasn't the truck it was a trailer always had a short in it at times

Bjbeard 07-15-2018 08:48 PM

But the issue is .... I'm getting power to my plug... left turn, right turn, and brakes but not the brown wire for my daylights, marker lights

Bigddy7856 07-15-2018 09:37 PM

I see my 30amp blows every time I click them on. Just super frustrated at this point

You REALLY need to start your own individual thread with ALL of the pertinent details in it instead of hijacking the original poster's thread.

Verify fuse F38 in the CJB. is passing ALWAYS HOT power first. The relay for the trailer parking lamp circuit is integrated into the CJB and is not a plug-in replacement. If the relay proves to be bad, you have three choices: 1) Replace (or have it replaced) the relay, requires disassembly and soldering, 2) replace the whole CJB, or 3) splice in an external generic relay around the failed relay.

See this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...rk-lights.html along with the one linked to therein. Keep in mind that those ten year old threads were very early in the learning curve on this issue.

Whe. You say always hot, you mean ... no key in ignition... no lights on..

if it's hot does that mean relay is good
