Truck excessively low in front

I recently bought a 2011 f150 ecoboost and shortly after notice my driver side dropping, as well as the whole front end seemed a little low, crawled under and saw my coils were broke. Dealership bought me 2 new strut assemblies and I put them on but I feel like my front end is still a little low. From what I read a 2" difference front to back seems like the norm but mine is just over 4" difference.
my front from ground to top of arch of wheel well is 34.25" and rear is 38.5". It's there something else I should be looking at?

  • EcoBoost is an engine assembly.
  • EcoBoost is not a model, trim, cab, wheelbase, or nx4 drive selection.
Which BTW will / would determine height measurements (as per the Body Builders Layout Book).

Sounds like someone had it leveled and the dealer got the wrong part maybe.

Two thoughts ...

it could be that it has an "add-a-leaf" spring in the rear. its possible that someone did a 2" level kit up front and added a leaf in the back to get somewhat of a lift on the whole truck.

i have also heard that they were raising the rear with taller blocks as an attempt to stop the take-off shudder that some of the ecoboost trucks experience. Now, whether this is from a ford TSB or whether it was dealers doing it on their own, i don't know.

measure your blocks and count the leafs in your spring pad. i'm guessing the reason lies in one of these two.

It's a good idea to check if they used the right springs. I'm sure my 6.2L F150 has bigger springs than the base V6 for example.

I just checked and only two options are listed for any engine....standard duty and heavy duty. I a bit surprised but that's from Rock Auto so who knows.

It is normal for the rear to be higher than the front. Trucks are built to haul things so when you load stuff, it will sit level. Many people put spacers on the front so they sit level empty.. which I dont agree with, and then you have a whole new set of problems.
