59 ford f100 t98 transmission swap
I am very new with this so any and all help will be appreciated. I recently blew up my bog and Warner 3-speed side loading transmission and my 59 Ford F100 custom cab. I bought another 3-speed sideloading transmission and the gears were gone on that as well. I came across a t98 transmission out of a 72 ford f250 the bell housing is the exact same as mine and seems like it would fit. My question is is there any modifications that I will have to do to make this t98 fit? It's going into a 292 Y block should I have any concerns with shaft clearance from the bellhousing to the flywheel? What clutch and pressure plate should I use? I was told the shaft might be longer on the T 98 then my stock Borg and Warner. Ive had a lot of trouble finding a transmission as the stock clutch and pressure plate hasn't fit any other transmission I have gotten so far. Thank you guys very much for your time and any help is appreciated

What you probably found is the Borg-Warner T-18 4 speed, introduced in 1965. But there's no way that any 1965 and later bell housing will be the same as 1964 and earlier. |
