Exhuast Holes: What to do?
Hey FTE,
While I was pretending to be the Rust Doctor recently, I noticed that my Exhaust pipe is pretty beat up with some holes along the pipe and splits along the welding seam on the muffler. 1. What Should I look for in checking the function of this item? 2. How to repair or replace? Will upload photos soon! |
There are no reliable patches. It's time to replace.

Yes rusty exhaust means its time to replace it.

Any place in particular to try and get one? Are used ones worth a damn or should you just buy new?

Don't waste your time with used. You can find a complete kit online. Walker is a good name.

Short trips usually cause exhaust rust. If that's what you do, consider a stainless steel system. A cat-back doesn't cost much more in stainless than steel and will bolt right up.
