Just thought I would share the picture below with you. My dad sent me this of him hauling hay with my 01 F250. Up until January he always used his own truck for this, but due to an unfortunate accident his truck was taken out of the game permanently. Still having not found a truck he was satisfied with we decided to pull my truck out of hibernation and let her do some work. Truck is currently sitting at about 268.5k miles.

I'm guessing about 1200 lb per, 13 bales = 15,600 - seems about right judging from the looks of your rear (on overloads). About right max for a F250, good job! :-X22

Thanks. I can't speak to the weight of these particular bales as Dad didn't give me the empty weight of truck and trailer. They definitely are not the heaviest bales we have ever hauled, I know that much. Total weight of this load was 33740. In comparison the heaviest load we ever hauled with Dad's F350 came in at 38420.

Ha, and I thought my 22,900 was a heavy gross wt.

It is a lot of weight. We don't go very far, typically no more than 50 miles with a load on.

You are right, these trucks give and give and keep asking for more. Don't post that picture in the 5th wheel or Power Stroke section or you will be hammered to death by the payload police.

how'd it drive?

Dad said it pulled great. I thought it would be a bit of a struggle as my truck always seemed to lack compared to his, he liked it though, said it pulled just as well as his truck ever had.

We just got back last week from a 1500 mile round trip pulling the 5er to Florida, Topsail Preserve. The truck never ceases to amaze me. Loves to pull hills with a load. Turned 120 k on the way home.

I should hope so, as your scale weight far exceeded the GVWR capacity of truck, trailer, and combined. Try that on a mountain pass and you will have no hope up or downhill.
Which is why I suspect your scale weight is for all axles combined - and that no point of entry scale would allow you to proceed.
Farm vehicles get a certain amount of leeway instate, but this seems a bit much.
Not questioning your veracity, but you got away with a grossly overloaded rig! :-hair
