Remodeling time
Started remodeling the camper last night. Making a loft in the garage for the boys. Full with and between 6'6" and 8' long. Will be hinged in the front so I can lift up the back for loading dirt bikes.

Looks like a fun project. Keep the updates and pics coming!

Ended up making it 8' long so I had to only make 1 cut on each sheet of plywood. Did all the cutting and building inside since it was cold and rainy. Only opened the rear door to get the plywood out and turned sideways.I also have 3 posts per side and a block at the rear. I can't use a post at the rear as it would block a vent door from opening.

Need to borrow a small nailer to secure the paneling after I insulate. Still need to get some paneling to fill in the missing spot on the garage wall and make a wall at the rear of the loft. Not quite sure what I will do for that as it needs to fold down so I can lift up the loft floor to load bikes. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...df2afc5564.png |
Hows the remodel coming along?

To do list for tonight: clean up add more screws in the loft floor. I ran out flush water tanks and fill hookup truck and move onto street to start loading for this weekend To do after this weekend: Paint walls in loft cut rug or get carpeting trim around the opening |
Not the best pictures but you should get the idea.
12" plywood screwed to end of loft floor than 24" piece attached to the 12" piece with hinges. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...dbd4327b97.jpg closed position so no kids fall out. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...8a331a5731.jpg open position so you can lift it https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...f7f60c0770.jpg lifted for loading https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...cbfc199d57.jpg should be a little higher. I think the right strut is a dud. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...d1f5a45689.jpg inside looking into the loft. need to paint and carpet. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...e7212c7bc0.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...a9184c7911.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...e6fc73dcbb.jpg still a mess. 3 lights in the loft with switches on them. 1 roof vent. I am adding a cover over it so it can be open when raining. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...fd09f72fe3.jpg |

That's pretty darned cool Brandon! Back when we were planning to move up from our old 31' bumper pull TH we looked at lots of 5er THs and the rear lofts were one of our favorite features, your mods give the same functionality without the insanely high profile. Good job!
