Battery life in the 6.7 ?
 

Have you replaced the batteries in your 6.7 yet?
Did you wait until the old ones died?

Reason I ask is that my truck & batteries were 3.5 years old and I got uncomfortable about getting stranded with dead batteries.
(I happened to get stranded in my Jeep with it's factory battery - approximately 4 years old on Easter day. I didn't like that a bit.)
So I replaced both batteries in my 2015 Super Duty (took delivery in Aug 2014).

Just wondering what the factory battery life expectancy might be?

Mine are March of 2012.
Original. Still test good.

Mine quit very abruptly after a cold front passed through early one morning after 50 months, and temps were in the low teens. I suspect that had I waited a few days, the truck would have started fine once it had warmed up.

Got 4 years out of them. One went bad, replaced both.

my experience with Ford batteries is about 36 months. But if that 36 monthsi during the summer, I usually can get a few more months So I'll say 36-48 months
But in that time frame , I'm at 90,000 to 120,000 miles So they have been used a lot

I was at 90k as well.

The passenger side battery went out at 59k miles and the 2 year mark. When it went, it also took the connector with it (corrosion) so I had to replace that too. I only replaced the one battery, not both. The driver side is still good today at 3yr and 73k miles

I had a 1993 F-150 and the original Motorcraft battery lasted 7 years! So far, I haven't had to replace the batteries in my 2015 6.7. However, when the time comes, don't you have to replace both?

Yes, you should replace both

2012 f350 dump truck, 48k miles. this last winter on real cold days it would not start, even after plugging in. tried to get the winter out of it but if i used my dump body while the truck was off it would drain the batteries. i could tell the last 6 months or maybe even a little more it didnt start as fast as it used to.

Still have my original batteries. Thinking this may the year they get replaced.

Over 7 years and still good.

I'm a few months into my third set on a May 2010 build. The OEM leaking Motorcraft's failed within a week at 30 months of use. Set #2 of DieHard AGM platinum's took about ten months to become useless at just under four years of use.

I hope I don't jinx myself but my 2012 SD has the original batteries. I keep them clean and corrosion free. I have been thinking about replacing them with Sam's Duracell AGM batteries. I can get the Motorcraft batteries for the same price but I believe the AGMs are a little better.
