k, i've looked everywhere, and not a bit of luck i think. ive been lookin everywhere for a program that i can dl to my laptop to use as a diagnostic machine for my truck where i can do te code changing and all that jazz. when i did a search this was one of the sites it gave, but i have no idea what it is i want. the post said something bout some eec4 or like late 80s early 90s truck had an eec5 or something like that. no my questio is can ne one else gimme a good site to go to, or clairify what it is that im suppose to be looking for or something. thanx

its a 97 2.3 ranger xlt efi if that helps

You have an EEC-V computer. Sure, there are tools for it, but you have to know what you're doing and they aren't cheap. The Tweecer isn't too bad in price but I don't think they support the Ranger --- the market isn't very big because there just aren't many people willing to shell out the dough for a programming set up for a 2.3L. Do a web search for "Tweecer." Be forewarned that you can easily trash your engine if you don't know what you're doing --- it requires that you manipulate the tables yourself and they leave it up to you to know what to change.
