1946 Jail Bar IFS
 

I've got a 46 1/2 that I want to put a IFS under, I thought no problem I'll order a kit from somebody but nobody seem to list a crossmember specifically for this truck. I called Heidts yesterday and don't have a kit for this truck, they want me to measure the frame and get back with them. I think that a M2 based front end is the best way to go. Does anybody know of a crossmember or front end kit just for this truck? What's my options? I'm open for thoughts, advice or comments.

An IFS kit for a '48-'52 will work for your truck. The newer trucks have bumper mounts as part of the frame but from there back they are the same as a '42-'47.

I know there are thousands of those M2 style front suspensions out there doing just fine but every since they first got popular, something about using a front end designed for a crappy little car kind of makes me cringe.
