Check gauges light, tranny gauge dead.

It works when I turn the truck off and back on. I drove through some standing water earlier. Probably a foot or two deep. I didn't think it was a problem for my Super Duty. Any ideas?

Since the TFT sensor is inside the pan, I'm going to say there's a wet wiring connector or short somewhere. Unless the temp sensor died; I've had a TFT sensor die that suddenly in a 5R110W, but that's a different trans than yours so I won't hazard a guess if your temp sensor would fail the same way.

Thanks! I'll drop it off at the mechanic tomorrow if they aren't underwater...lol. (Nor' easter winter storm came in and we're right on the coast).

My mechanic couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I hope it's nothing serious. I'm going to put the plow back on it. We're expecting 12-18 inches tomorrow and I need to make some money.

The gauge works now. No red warning light. There's a pause when I shift it into reverse. I'm going to have it checked out by another shop after the storm. Any recommendations for a replacement 4R100? I don't want to spend $5000 on a John Wood 4R100.

How long of a pause into reverse? 2-3 seconds is normal for a 4R100.
